Letter Boxed Rules
Explanation
Letter Boxed is a word puzzle game that appears in the New York Times. The puzzle consists of a 3x3
square, with 3 letters on each side, and the aim is to create a sequence of words that together use all of the letters at least once.
The rules:
- Each word must be at least 3 letters long
- Each word must start with the last letter of the previous word
- The letters in each word must be able to trace a path on the puzzle, where the next letter must be on a different edge to the previous letter
The puzzle is considered solved when all the letters have been used.
For example, the following image is a screenshot of the original puzzle with the first word traced out, it spells 'GRIP'. The next word would begin with 'P'.
